Obtaining x and y co-ordinates from mesh file
Hey guys,
Im new to fluent and doing a simple problem of specifying a parabolic inlet velocity profile to a 2D -pipe. Now to put my equation for my parabolic profile into the UDF I need to know the x values at the edges of the pipe. I was wondering how do I obtain the x and y values of a point in mesh file using fluent? When I right click on the very edge fluent spits out: "Surface group = velocity-inlet-4, id = 2, name = velocity inlet -4" |
Assuming you made the geometry yourself, and did so with some rationale, you could figure out the right coordinates using geometry and algebraic extrapolation of data you know (e.g. the surface is 100cm above the horizontal, y=100cm). It can be tedious but it's not difficult unless you were random in designing it.
