First time user : basic question

I am and some my friends are very new. we just started classes in CFD. We came to know just some names of CFD packages and having very basic questions.

If we are going to run Fluent on MAC, Windows, Linux etc ... Does it make any difference in results like accuracy, time consumption etc.

I will really appreciate all your time for answers.

Windows is less eficient in computational resources, so Fluent will run slower than in other OS (assuming that the processor is the same).

Accuracy doesn´t depend on the OS

There is also big difference between 32bit and 64bit. Try goes for 64bit if u want to have fast simulation.

Now i wanna buy Fluent from Ansys... what shls i look for ? i mean if i will buy ANSYS 12. will that include all other softwares like FLUENT, CFX etc ..

Try to find reseller in your region... and ask them !!!!
Do you think you can buy this by yourself?!?!?!?!?!

Yes in USA, its $100 for student version. But first of all i wanna know everything than i can see what is better for me !!

A few years ago (about four) we bought 20 seats (under university program) and it cost us less than 4000 dollars. Accuracy comes later, if you are a new user. First get yourself familiar with GUI and see what you want to do. It is very good tool, have come along way, and widely used in industry
