Liscense per core or per proceoosr

Hi all

I have some confusion regarding Fluent parallel process.

If we have a single CPU with quad cores it means we have 4 cores. So do we need a single parallel license for that or for separate licenses (each for each core)

Secondly, if I have 8 cores and I give the command fluent 3ddp -t9 it still shows me 9 nodes but technically speaking it should not show that because of physical 8 cores.

I suppose you need a license per core (need to be confirmed).
Second guess, I assume you can enforce more process on a core

The way I understand it from the documentation is that you need one license for every core. However, I have run it on 8 cores of a cluster with only a 4 seat license, and a process check confirmed that it actually had 8 processes running on 8 different cores.

So you may just have to try it and watch the process tree.

From what I understand, if you have 4 cores, you can run your case using 8 nodes.
