Hi Saiful,

There is not really a user manual specifically for natural ventilation. Rather the user manual supplied with the product has specifications intended as best practices. So you will have to look at each setting individually in the user manual and check the settings indicated for natural ventilation. Basically you will have to read through most of the manual as I did myself when I was just starting off.

Thank you for your reply. I have access to a PDF version of Fluent 12 manual in our school. I searched for the word natural ventilation but failed to get any. So I am bit confused where to start. Thank you.

Hi Saif,

Try looking for "natural" or "natural convection." This should do the trick.

Natural convection between two heated walls in a stratified medium
 
Hi every body,

I'm modeling Natural convection between two heated vertical walls in a stratified medium. I'm considering the effect of the free space stratification on the natural convection by imposing a stratification presssure (caused by initial thermal stratification of medium) between the inlet and the outlet of the channel (two walls). I simulate only the domain contained between the two walls, the effect of free space stratification is taked into account by applying a stratification pressure at top of the channel.

To resume, I first initialize the temperature stratification (linear temperature along the channel), initialize the pressure (a parabolic pressure along the channel). Concerning the boundary conditions, at the inlet boundary I applied zero pressure, at the outlet I applied the pressure stratification. So, I have the same problems as Mr Pierre and Mr Nelson, I have backflow at the top of my channel which it should not comparing with experimental results. Now, I'm asking Mr Pierre and Mr Nelson, if you can tell me the best way I can use to solve my problem. Thank you very much
