Diesel Engine combustion chamber analysis

hello all
I am doing cfd analysis(3D) of diesel engine combustion chamber using Fluent. I have carried out the colds flow simulation. Now I am going for combustion.
Could anybody tell me which combustion model i should use?
Should I use speicies transport or Non-premixed combustion?
Can I get some tips over the volumetric reactions and ignition delay model?
Thanks in advance

I definately u won't get any answer for this post.
Please study more on Fluent simulation and ur own target before u post it.
AND , post it in detail with picture /video.

anyhow, just a piece of advice. good luck.

hi
actually I am doing combustion analysis to study some factors like heat release for the single cylinder diesel engine for which I am having experimental results. I have completed 3D meshing and successfully carried out cold flow simulation for all the strokes with mesh deformation.
Now I am going to carry out combustion. I have gone through fluent user guide. I am getting some error using species transport. Solution is diverging just after diesel injection starts.
if i could get some tips on it.
thanks.

You should try to balance the mesh size(x), the time step size(dt) from the predicted spray velocity(v). In particular, you should focus on especially near the spray inlet where the velocity is the highest. Use this guideline, dt < x/v.

i think u can use non-per mixture because it is specially used for this purpose

combustion analysis reg...

sir, i am starting combustion analysis right now so please can u get me some materials to go through.... my mail id is keerthi_gpet@yahoo.co.in

hello sachinthakre,

Can you show me how you did the simulation for cold flow simulation? I realy need this to my doctorate thesis. Please can you send me your model to stroe_sergiu@yahoo.com.
Thank you very much and good lock,
Sergiu

Just out of curiosity where are you supposed to ask then?

Hern Tan is supposed to ask for a grammar check.. spelling too.. dont be a prick. if u have nothing to contribute keep quiet

need help for meshing in gambit

i need to simulate an IC engine 2D (lister petter) so i tried to reproduce the same geometry as the tutoriel in-cylinder mesh
now i have no idea about how to construct the mesh (structured and non structured mesh in one face) in the valve
i need the valve layering zones to in structered (quad) because o the layering
have you got any idea how to do it in gambit

hi... i have a confusion about selection of combustion chamber for cfd analysis in ci engine so can you give one of combustion chamber which is recently used in vehicle .........
