Hi, I am working on the tutorial by Fluent for injection in a SI engine, 2D.

I have everything set-up with the dynamic mesh and the rest of the case as described. The case solves for around 30 mins then it will get stuck with the message "advancing dpm injections".

I presume it has gotten stuck in an infinite loop and I can't interrupt or close the program. It has usually done 10000 itterations by this time with good residual values.

I can see the displays of what's happening at each step and the injection seems to be working as it should.
I find this strange since it's a Fluent tutorial which they and other people must have checked a lot.

I have set ar URF involved with the injection to 1.

Does anyone have and ideas or possible advice?

Thanks a lot.

I managed to get a solution by reducing the splash in the wall function from 4 to 3.

Hi Joanny,

Can you help me how you solved it? I try to run the tutorial as well, but i got different error in which the iteration stucked and mentioned there is negative cell volume. I had followed the tutorial step-by-step, but getting confused why I got this error. Your help is very much appreciated.

thanks.

I am also facing a similar problem.

I am following a tutorial on cold flow simulation in engines and it runs fine. But when i make any modification to the injection velocities (define>injections) , the iteration runs for around 10000 and gets stuck after around 30 minutes.

What should i do? If i try it in a powerful system will it help?

In which tutorial file do you have injection etc mentioned? Can you send it as a pdf to sankarram90[at]gmail.com
