Hello,

I would like to simulate exhaust manifold inside an engine. In order to provide the precise effect of the real complexe flow inside the manifold, I would like to do a coupling between AMESim (1D Software) and Fluent. (This is a part of my work placement mission.)

But concerning the manifold boundary conditions, I think that I should use some flow or pressure average methods at the inlet and the outlet in order not to loose the data exchanges between softwares.

Unfortunately, from thesis I read, I didn't really notice any assumption or approch description which lead to transform 3D equations into 1D or reverse.

Could anyone help me finding some thesis or ideas about it? Or do you already have some UDF about it?

Thanks in advance,

Oguz

PS: I will do the same survey with the intake manifold...
