Dear Fluent User,
I have a problem, how to set or to make boundary condition for ignition in combustion or gasification simulation. The temperature for inlet air and coal particle both are 300 K. If I read in the tutorial of fluent for multiple char combustion, the temperature of inlet air is always very high about 1200 K, does it mean to make ignition condition? Thank you and looking forward for your comment. Regards, Tantular |

Hi,
Ignition can be achieved by patching high temperature to appropriate cells from Initialization panel. In this case you can keep incoming gas (fuel/air) at realistic temperatures. regards Chetan |

Thanks Chetan,
Are the cells, where temperature will be patched, made in the pre processing ( I am using design modeller)? Does it mean that I should define those cells as interior then I have to initialize those cells with for example 1200 K? Or Should I patch all of the calculation domains with 1200 K? Thank your very much for your kind reply and looking forward for your next reply. Regards, Tantular |

Thanks, Could you give me some suggestion about where are the locations of appropriate cells?

well, it depends upon your problem. try to patch temperature to entire domain.

I have patch to entire problem, however, the reaction still did not occur, the temperature back to 300 K in entire problem after thousands iterations. Thanks, could you give me any suggestions.
