How to Patch?

Dear Folks,

I have a problem here on using patch.

Due to some constraint on computing resources, I need to break down my 3D domain into two blocks. One block sits within another. The smaller block contains complex cavities which if modeled required a high number of computational cells.

I am thinking of simulating the larger block alone first, then at the surface where it is linked to the smaller block, I wish to "pass" the flow variables, i.e. pressure to the inlet of the smaller block.

Can someone please guide me how can I use patch or other methods (if available) to identify and feed the data at the interface between the two blocks from larger to the smaller block so that I can run the simulation separately for the smaller block with higher grid resolution without being constrained by the limitation of computing resources and time.

Thx very much in advance.
