Calculating torque
I have a rotor/stator/housing model that rotates around the vertical (Y) axis. I would like to measure the torque acting on the rotor blades. Is there a way by which this can be done in Fluent?
I have layered each of the rotor blades in ICEM. So, ideally, I should be able to get the torque acting on each of these blades, from FLUENT. Please help.. Thanks. |
Surely the torque can be calculated from the integral of the pressure on the blades times the effective radius.

choose moment (or torque I don't remember anymore), and set the right point for computing it. Check that the torque around Y-axis doesn't change when you set it with another point (but still on the Y-axis) |
