Calculating Lehgth of pipe for data measurement
Hello Guys ,
I want to use a pressure transducer in my gasifier but since the core temp is at 850-900 C i thought i would attach a hollow pipe to the gasifer and connect the transducer to the end,so that the pipe acts as a fin and the data logger could be safe from high temperature. But i need to know the length of the pipe that i should be using to put the data logger in a safe environment. I tried simulating using a simple pipe (no shell) with inlet flow at 0 m/s @ 850 C and i made the curved surface and end surface as walls subjected to convection. But i am not able to get any good results. I have done flow analysis using Fluent ,but i am stuck with this simple model...Would be really helpful if anyone could help me on this.Since in thsi one it is just the pipe is filled with hot gases at a certain pressure and the other end is closed by the data logger and the surface of the pipe is exposed to convection (h = 34 W /m2 K)..and i used Stainless steel. |
