UDF compilling

Hi,
I am doing cfd simulation of pulse tube refrigeration syatem(2d axisymmetric) using fluent 6.3.26. I wanted to simulate the compressor(dual opposed compressor) motion using compilled UDF.Visual Studio Express Edition 2008 is used as the compiller. Can anyone help me ,how to compile the udf function (steps involved) and how to view the mesh motion preview of the compressor.
thanks...

You can compile your function through Define->user-defined->function->compiled,first add your functions build the lib ,and then load it.
To preview the mesh motion ,solve->mesh motion, set the proper time step

Hi!

Probably your are using Fluent for windows, right??

Are you trying to compile your UDF it from the prompt window of Visual Studio??

have you read the UDF's user guide???

it is somewhat helpful, but some things won't work well if you don't have a MinGW or Cygwin installed on your machine and it is not completely clear in the users guide...for instance, in the makefike it is used the sed command that is not a command from the Visual Studio...if you dont have the MinGW or the Cygwin installed you won't be able to compile your function...

Please send us more information on what you are exactly doing then we can better help you!

Regards,

Grace

Compiling UDF

Hi friends,
it's working, these are the steps which showed in the fluent window after compiling UDF.
Opening library "libudf"...
Library "libudf\ntx86\2d\libudf.dll" opened
vel_comp
Is this correct?......
But mesh motion preview of the compressor is not getting.I defined the udf function on the top of the compressor and compressor left and right is defined as walls and bottom as axis.
Can you help me please.....

thanks for the reply.

hi
yeah, the success of compiling udf only indicates that there's no syntax error, and nothing more, so i have no idea of your problem, you can post it
