CFD calculation from transonic to supersonic flow

hi everyone
is it possible to use FLUENT or CFX to do simulation for flow which change from transonic to supersonic regimes? my professors said CFD cannot solve this flow problem, is that true? I thought both flow regimes are still governed by Euler's equations. Could somebody confirm this with me? Many thanks for your help.

Hi lawmc,

CFD can achieve many transonic and supersonic flow calculations. I can't understand why your professor say it's impossible. Maybe you can give some detail about model and boundary conditions. Then i can help better.

Good luck
