I am in the process of selecting a CFD software for simulating the flow around a vertical axis wind turbine. Fluent seems like a great package but i have a couple of questions some of you might be able to answer:
1. Since ANSYS bought FLUENT, do you still get all of the features found in Fluent V. 6.3? (e.g. rotational frames, support for dynamic meshes, 6 DOF) 2. In a 2D study, Can you add a dynamic mesh inside a rotational frame of reference? I believe this will be the best way to generate a transient simulation where the airfoils are rotating but pitching at the same time. If you have any other ideas please let me know. |
