l am working of a gas-liquid simulation using VOF.
is it right to pass the 2 phases simultaneously through my single inlet?
How do l set my volume fraction for the secondary phase?
There was a suggestion that someone should pass a phase throgh the inlet and put the volume fraction equal 0 or 1 depending on whether is a primary or secondary, ?( but, l a little bit confuse about what to do)

in summary, l have a 2 phase simulation known to be stratified flow and l am using VOF. How do l set my boundary condition?
Thanks.

hi,
if your physical condition is such that there are 2 phases entering the system..so be it..put liquid as primary and air secondary. so, inlet bc - vof of liquid = say 0.5, air will automatically be taken as 1-0.5~0.5

if there is too much mixing - use multifluid - else for trackign interfaces strat flows, use VOF. you should see good results.

btw are you using fluent 6.2 or 6.3? try using CICSAM approach in 6.3 - its interface capturing is better than the geo scheme.
