Hi everyone,

I am trying to calculate the momentum source as shown -

source = mdot *(increase in velocity) /cell volume.

where, mdot = mass flow rate through each cell face.
cell volume = volume of each cell in the fluid zone, where source has to be applied.

The flow is steady and fluid is moving in a pipe in x direction.

When i give the calculated source value as x momentum source term in fluent, I am not getting the expected velocity increase.

Can anyone tell me is this the correct way of calculating momentum source

Thanks in advance,
Kavita.
