Pressure Inlet Boundry Condition...
 

In fluent For pressure inlet B.C. two Inputs are required,
1. Gauge Total Pressure.
2. Supersonic/Initial Gauge Pressure.
What atre these two pressures physically???

for the schematic attched, which boundary condition should be implemented for the bottom and top of the cavity

Either 2D and 3D modeling is desired.
Also the aim is at Natural Convection in this cavity filled by Air.
Does it make any sence to use the inlet and outlt pressure B.C.?

no it makes no differance to use inlet or oulet pressure B.C. But for the lower boundary if you use Pressure Outlet you will see reverse flow and you should set the reverse flow characteristics.

thanks for replying my question.... but i have to use the pressure inlet bc at any location not specifically @ natural convection... as in my problem i want to simulate a crack in high pressure pipeline, i don't now the velocity their...
like a hydrogen carrying pipeline at pressure 11 bar & dia 1m has crack of 20cm & i want to simulate h2 release from crack... but i don't know the exact velocity over there so i want to use pressure inlet BC the rest of pressure is atmospheric so how cud i use pressure inlet bc????
