GAMBIT-Definition of Skewness

Hi all!

Can anyone tell me the mathematical definition of skewness of a mesh cell?

this might helps you

For quad and hex: skew = max[ (amax – 90)/90, (90 – amin)/90]
For tri: Skew = Optimal face/cell size – face/cell size
Optimal face/cell size

usually, we define the good quality mesh by limit its skewness within a certain criterion:

Hex and quad < 0.7
Tets < 0.8
Tri < 0.7
