Particle tracks - exported file size

I'm tracking some particles from the inlet of my system to the outlet of the system. After I run the simulation, I "Export-->Particle History Data" and save a file of particle tracks.

My question is, how can I reduce this file size? Preferably by increasing the time step... I've played around with it in the DPM settings, but after I change the time step and re-run the simulation, the file size is the same. Any thoughts?

You might be able to compress the files to reduce their size. See 4.1.5 in the fluent 6.3 user guide.

Compressing the files is not what my issue is... I process the data in another program after. When I open the particle track data in the second program, if there is too much data the program wont work.

I need to reduce the file size, not by compressing the output file, but by making it smaller by increasing the time step/reducing the number of points
