Inviscid solver and vorticity

Hello,

I would like to know if there is any numerical diffusion or induced vorticity in the inviscid solver in Fluent. Because I get 2D vortex shedding but I am not sure where the vorticity comes from. Unless the shedding is inviscid?

Thanks.

1st order upwind and 2nd order upwind spatial discretization schemes (both available in Fluent) introduce some numerical diffusion. The diffusion will be reduced if using the second-order scheme.

Vortex shedding with an inviscid solver is a purely numerical phenomenon.
