problem with heat flux in the wall
I am modeling a plate fin heatsink in fluent, when i apply constant heat flux for example 200 w/m^2 to the base plate there is no heat transfer between the solid heatsink and the fluid flow and there is no difference between inlet and outlet temperatures, but when instead of heat flux i apply "heat generation" to the base plate,in this case there is heat transfer between heatsink and fliud flow, and the temperature of inlet and outflow differs,do you have any idea what is the problem with heat flux?

when u use a heat flux to a base plate with no heat conduction on the other side, heat flux cannot occur. if you want heat flux at the base plate boundary use negative heat source term to sink the heat and hope that will give you the results
