I simulated the flow of air in a verical tube (d/L=0.05)which is heated by its sides (wall constant temperature). The air inlet is on the top of the cylinder and its moving downwards to the pressure outlet.
Now i wanted to insert sand from the top of the tube which will move due to gravity downwards. I decided to use the Discrete Phase Model and inducing particle trajectories to see the behaviour of the solids. When i set the particle trajectories i have to set the inlet bvelocity of the solid..but the velocity is 0 m/sec in my case. In addition the velocity of the solid on the outlet is not known so i cannot set it. Can you recommend me another way to use DPM?
I would like to simulate the flow of 0.1 kgr/ minute. The perlite inlet diameter is 3 cm.. Can you recommend me which is for you the appropriate type of injection?
Thank you in advance
You can use Surface or Group injection.
firstly I would recommend you to use surface injection with uniform diameter. when u clik on surface then You have to give surface name from where the particles are injected. Then you can give 0 m/s velocity of the particles from that surface and get the result.
