hello

What is the purpose of "Ste face element type" If I increase the number of nodes to 9 node for quadrilateral and 6 nodes for traingle face element then do my results will become more accurate? (as for a single element FLUENT has to solve now 9 nodes instead of original 4 nodes)

Can u put some light on this as Gambit modeling guide doenst explain in detail. Thanks
Mohsin

-mAx- will become famous soon enough
from the Modeling Guide:
"NOTE: Finite-element solvers, such as the FIDAP solver, employ higher-order elements (for example, 8-node and 9-node quadrilateral elements). Finite-volume solvers, such as FLUENT/UNS, employ only linear elements (for example, 4-node quadrilateral elements). "

thankyou Max

I have read this Note in Gambit Modeling guide But Finite volume solvers can also employ 8, 20, 27 nodes. My question was that whether increasing the number of nodes increases accuracy?what effect it has on quality of mesh?
