flow in cylinder

hi all,
i have a study to flow in cylinder i drow two faces one for cylinder and the other for fluid then i revolve the two faces but when i export to fluent the face between the volume of fluid and solid flouent didnt show me option coupled for it in thermal condetion .. i dont know why ? please help |

hi
in your simulation there is an error on the lateral faces of the fluid and the solide are separeted while the face between the two zone must be one i hope that it's usefull best regards |

but how can i connect the two faces between solid and fluid?
from spilt face? or there is another option? |

To make a coupled wall from decoupled wall, first fuse the faces. Fluent will say that volumes are of different material but it will fuse them and create an interior. Now, convert that interior into wall and it will be a couple wall.

thank u for replay
but how can i fuse faces from gambit or fluent ? from which order? i try to spilt volumes but gambit didnt spilt and give me an error.. i have many volumes in diffrent curves so i draw in 2d then i revolve please help thank u all |

Fusing a term used in Fluent. In Gambit, it is called connecting. So, if you are working in Gambit, just connect the faces (edges in case of 2D). And for splitting the volume, you have to create a face that crosses through the volume and then use that face for splitting. You can split volume in Fluent, too, by converting it into a wall and then splitting cell zone by region.

Hi
there are some option for unite two surface * one is merge the surface * another is clean-up geometry with the double surfaces option, but in this way Gambit will be to create a virtual volume that will can be a problem when you meshing * when you drawing the geometry with accurancy |
