exporting a data file.

Hi Everyone,

I want export a data file (.dat) that contains the node coordinate (x,y) and a variable value (density in my case) from a simulated domain (VOF). Is there a way i can do that in either Fluent or TECPLOT.

I was able to do that in TECPLOT 360... by going through "file-write data file" and i was able to get it in .dat format in which i can read it .. but the problem is that the column that contains, for example, the x-coordinate will also have the density and other values, the same thing with the y-coordinates and density.. i don't know what i am doing wrong.

thanks,
Alex

You mean your data as a single column instead of 3 columns ? Or the x,y coord are mangled with the density ?
