Twice the plate spacing.

dh = 2ab/(a+b) for a rectanglular duct, where a and b are the length of each side. as a becomes large compared to b, (a+b) approaches a, so dh approaches 2b as the a's cancel.

You have to be careful though, as many authors will also use the plate spacing itself (say, for reynolds number, etc.).
