Hi all,
I have a Fluent model where I would like to export out the coordinates of all the nodes in my mesh into a text file. Does anyone know if this can be done? If yes, how do I do it? So far, the export options in fluent seems to be giving formats for softwares like ABAQUS, PATRAN, NASTRAN etc. Thanks in advance, EH |

You could try initialising your grid with the default values then save the .dat file in ascii format then open the file in a text editor. I've used this in the past to extract certain things and I'm pretty sure it should contain x,y,z arrays for the node locations near the top of the file. It can take some time though as even small grids will produce alot of text to sift through.

I could successfully export the data as an I-DEAS file and read in a text/wordpad document with data spread according to the X-Y-Z coordinates.
