Hello everyone,
I have designed a Francis turbine runner, with empirical method. One of steps of designing is to draw meridional flow field in 2-D. I have solved this by using Finite Difference Method (FDM) then by combining with conformal mapping method, i got the 3-D shape of runner. I must do a test to check if this method is acceptable, experimentally or numerically. Since experimentally impossible 4 me right now, i choose the second : Using Fluent.

My Questions :
1. How to perform the simulation [boundary condition, turbulence model to be used ..etc] ? in order to get the power output and efficiency

2. How to validate the result?

Please, help me, every reply would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Hi;

I started to work on Francis turbine design but i got stuck. Can you send me document to do the analytical design of runner. And can you explain me the FDM and mapping method you used. I couldn't draw the streamlines in meridional view.

Waiting for your answer, best regards...

I'm starting to work with GAMM francis turbine, but I din't get the geometry data yet... please, could you help me? If you had the link, or the website, please, could you send it for me?
Thank you very much,
Lo
