unassigned interface zones

I've created a mesh in ANSA with sizeboxes (volume refinement zones). They aren't supposed to export to fluent at all, however, when I try to initialize the mesh, fluent states that Init_Flow:unassigned interface_zones and halts. When reading in the grid, the two zones are mixed interface faces and triangular interface faces...but these zones do not appear in the mesh interface menu at all. How do I assign them boundary conditions/make them disappear to fluent?

Hi there,

I guess you have created non-conformal interfaces in ANSA. Make sure that in ANSA you are in Fluent Deck
and you should assign as boundary condition type
Interface for these two zones.
Then these will be output in the msh file as separate interface zones.
You need to read the msh file in Fluent and then
Define the interface through

Define>Mesh Interfaces>Create/Edit
specify a name in Mesh Interface field and then
select the two corresponding interfaces.

Then you should be able to check mesh and initialize the solution without a problem.

Best regards

Yes, I'd already done the interface definition and that solved the problem. I'm not sure why it hadn't shown up in my previous models...but, it worked.

Thanks.
