setting a second phase material

trying to make the second phase of a two phase fluid a solid. how? I have specified the material in the material section yet it won't appear in the phase list of materials.

If it is a solid, you will have to go into boundary conditions panel and declare it as a solid. Then you can choose the material in the setup there.

But if that part of the domain is solid, I am not sure if you need a multiphase model here.

when you say in the boundary conditions there doesn't seem to be an option for this. doe i need to set this in the interior of the model?

Depends on your Fluent version... I use v. 6.3. It should be somewhere as the zone type in the boundary conditions panel for the zone that you have defined in your meshing software (like Gambit).

using ansys 13 so the mesh and geometry are constructed in ansys. there doesn't appear to be a tool for defining the zone in the ansys mesher.
