Hi all,
I'm simulating a wave tank (I'm following this tutorial http://willem.engen.nl/uni/fluent/do...ernal/wave.pdf). My problem is that that the wave does not propagate anywhere in the water, only a small splash of water is attached close to the moving wall, i.e. the wave generator. I've tried with numerous discretization methods and different time steps and ran the flow time to 30 seconds but the result just does not make any sense although the solution converges fast. Any help would be appreciated as this thing is really getting o my nerves...

Hi, Architect!

Indeed, when folowing that example, waves dissipate unnaturally fast for my taste. My result at 3.5 sec. is illustrated at the attached file. Is this what you got?

I've just posted a new thread, concerning my efforts to enhance the boundary conditions in this case. Hope you find it interesting!

Thanks Denis, the waves do in fact look to dissipate really fast, I've ran the simulation to around 20 s and I still can't get more than a few waves. I'm trying to simulate oceanic waves but as it is now I can't get the waves to behave like they should, i.e. the dissipation is too fast. I will have a look at your new BC and report what I get.
