Wood Devolatilation and Volatile combustion

Dear all

My objective of my thesis is to reduce heat loss from cooking stove by simulating wood combustion which solving wood devolatilation (pyrolysis) and volatile combustion simultaneously.

Due to, the shape of wood used as fuel in cooking stove look like a log. So, I have no idea how to simulate the devolatilation process of wood. On the other hand, there is no problem for gaseous combustion.

So, I would like to ask for some suggestions from all of you about how to model wood devolatilation when the temperature of wood increases with time.

Here are my assumptions.
1. Uniform wood temperature
2. The temperature of wood increases with time which is caused by heat flux from gaseous combustion.
3. Rate of devolatilation process depends on the temperature and density of wood

Best Regard,
Thank you very much

dear friend,
have you modeled the pyrolysis or devolatilization using any software? I am also working upon increasing traditional cook stove efficiency via improvment in thermal energy transfer.
I would like share few ideas if you wish so.

thanks

can you please help me with the simulation of the wood stove (rocket stove). I need only simulation in the gaseous phase. please reply.
