CFD mixing time estimation
Hello guys
I am using fluent to estimate mixing times in one of my reactors. For my geometry, I am purging in some gas into the liquid bath through submerged nozzles. I then check my tracer distribution until it's homogenous in the vessel. I first used 2-D and now I am using 3-D simulation. The caluculated gas inlet velocities for 2-D is much low than the one used in 3-D ( i assumed same gas inlet rate and the asumed area of the cross section.) The observation now is that my mixing times for both 2-D and 3-D are almost similar. Is this normal. What about the z-direction effects? Thank you in advance for your help |
