Hello Mohsin.
Nice to hear You again. I hope everything works OK in your simulations.
You were quicker with your respond but I'll try to add a few thinks.

You can interpreted only simple functions like boundary conditions or material prop. But when You want to use any Fluent macro for example:
ms = P_MASS(p) to read particle mass you need to compile your .c code to .dll library. How to do that it is describe in FAQ of this forum, here is link:
http://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Fluen...with_Fluent_13

Try this, it should help you.

Hi all,
Thanks to your help, I gained some good results. however, now I have a problem which I need your help more.
In tutorial of function: Define_dpm_heat_mass, if I want to limit the minimum moisture content of particle, how should I do?
I tried my method as following: I used:
if (P_Mass(p)<a)
vap_rate =0

However, my simulation runs some steps then I have AMG error.
What was my mistake? If any one have experience in this problem, Please give me an advice
Best regards,
Tran Hang

Maybe I can help.

To thuhangbk48:
Do you compiled your UDF to .dll library using virtual studio or just interpreted? Without compiling UDF won't work if you use the internal functions of FLUENT.
I have a question: Is the simulation of spray drying are the subject of your PhD? Germany is quite close to the Poland so maybe we can make some kind of cooperation?

Hello all,

I realized you guys have very good experience in DPM and I'll be happy if you can give me some leads on my case. I'm trying to do the following simulation:

The general phenomena happening in contactor is as follow:
a) Superheated steam flows into contactor.
b)Preheated polymer solution “cement” is injected via a circumferential slit in the contactor wall into the flowing steam.
c)Steam devolatilize of solvent (cycolexane) from viscous polymer cement.
The steam carries the devolatilizing slurry into a receiving vessel:
About the mass fraction of intial injected solution : The cement starts as around 30% polymer, dissolved in cyclohexane (it injected from a surface as solution).

I've already done with simulation of flow and now I want to add injection surface and define the components of solution compounds (cement+solvent). So as you guys pointed out before, it might be hard to do simulation of a multicomponent which one part will evaporate and the other would be devolatilize. I wonder what is the best strategy to do this simulation. Any leads would be highly welcome.

Thank you.

Hi guys,

I am simulating a drying chamber, in which sodium carbonate solution is sprayed and being dried, leaving behind precipitated salt particles. I am currently writing an UDF Code for it but i have seen a component dialog box in multicomponent injection tab, where we can define evaporating and non evaporating part of the droplets. But i couldn´t find a way to define non evaporating part. There is only water to enter its mass fraction and its evaporation option.
Is there any way to define non evaporating part directly entering its mass fraction to that dialog box at injection properties tab without writing an UDF Code for mass fraction and other properties of droplet wit respest to mass fraction of components?

thanks
Mert

hello,

i am currently doing research on pulverized coal combustion and wanted to study the effect of a spray injection in place of a normal injection . does anyone have more information for me how to inject coal particles using spray injection method?

Hi guys. I want to inject solid particles in a closed domain. that is in one part i want the particles and air to be pressurized before the start of the simulation and after that the air pushes the particles inside the other expanded domain.

I am having problems with file injections.
