Hi
For my research work i need to simulate 2D/3D oscillating hydro-kinetic turbines. For 3D cases i am using sliding mesh interface between the static and rotating zones. Some how i have not been able to define 3D sliding mesh interface correctly.

In order to learn it better i have created a very simple fully structured case of rotating cylinder which contains a cube inside and outside is a static farfield. The mesh is generated in Pointwise and two zones namely rotating zone and static zones are also created. The interface domains are assigned the boundary condition "Interface" in Pointwise.

After importing the .cas file in Fluent, the interface named as cylinder_Interface is created and after assigning the rotating zone a rotational velocity of 3rad/sec about z axis the mesh motion is viewed before simulating the case. As it can be seen in attached figures the rotating zone along with the rotor right (right side in the negative Z direction) and left side patches rotate accordingly. The mesh distortion appear shared edges between the static and rotating patches where the static edge nodes follow the rotating edge nodes.

The distorted mesh is shown in the figures and I have also copied the Ponitwise and Fluent case files for your reference please.

Any help is highly appreciated.
