Hi,

My case is studding the pressure drop thought the geometry. this geometry consist of one inlet with specific mass flow and this mass flow divided into seven outlets.

I am trying to find my grid independent solution using grid adaptation. would you please give me some suggestions on this. how should I start: adaptation with static pressure gradient or velocity gradient adaptation?

thanks

Hi, Before starting grid adaptation, you really need make sure, if your solution is dependent on the grid, since it takes enormous computational resources for 3D grid adaptation.. I hope your geometry looks simple with single inlet and seven outlets. You can probably generate a good quality mesh ( look for skewness, AR, OQ, EQ, and ofcourse calculate first cell distance / y+ value) . Simualte until convergence, try not just using convergence criteria, but look for mass, heat, and flow inbalance along with monitoring the relevant parameter at the area of interest until the change is minimal. Next incase you think, the results are not pretty convincing, you can go ahead and adapt regions of interest.
