Simple 3D IC two stroke engine simulation

Hi people,

I am trying to model a 3D IC two stroke reciporacting engine cylinder for my final year thesis. Therefore I do not have the added complication of overhead valves. However, I am finding great difficulty in achieving the dynamic mesh.

1. I learned that layering should suffice and remeshing and smoothing are not necessary because I havent got any protruding valves. Is this true?

2. I was doing the 3D adiabatic compression tutorial however it includes remeshing and smoothing in it and it got me confused.

3. I succeded in achieving piston zone motion in the way that I want it however when I simulate a mesh motion, I did not succeed.

4. Are there any particular important things one has to make sure he does in the geometry and meshing stages?

I'm sorry if it sounds like I did not make a great effort in trying however I am totally confused at the moment and if anyone can offer me some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Darren

hi friend

1. layering should be used when there is an hex mesh.
2. remeshing should be used when you are using tet mesh.
however smoothing is common for both.
3. try to go with correct value for input
