Hi
I'm working on Hydrodynamic Anlysis of some kind of hull to capture the free surface of the water&air. Please Help me to find out waht kind of boundary conditions (Especially for OULTET 1, TOP, SIDE) are proper. THX |

hey firstly you have to whole box. then import this to fluent..then follow regular procedure upto initiate....before patching you have to go to Adapt--rigion option...in that creat box for water in the present box..patch it......it will take material wate as you have already created it.....and it will take air as remaining material.........try it......

Use Pressure outlet on Top, Symmetry on the sides. Patch the regions for water and air with their respective materials. If the objective of the simulation is to understand the interaction of the wave with the body, you have to generate waves from the inlet. This can be done by moving the inlet boundary by a small distance which compressed the domain and generated waves. You have to have a user defined expression to define the inlet boundary mesh motion. The velocity and the distance through which the inlet boundary has to move in-order to generate waves of particular amplitude and time period can be found on texts related to "Wave maker theory".
Dont forget to enable gravity and define the hydrostatic pressure variation with water depth. Please go through the Simulation of a Buoy (Rigid body) tutorial in CFX. |
