Hey there,
i'm simulating an utility heat boiler with the heat exchanger surfaces treated as porous media. In the porous media the heat is extracted by a UDF source term for the energy equation. Turbulence is modeled with the realiazable k-epsilon model. The mesh was generated with cutcell and therefore has very good quality. My problem is that the turbulent viscosity ratio gets limited in the porous media regions and i can't explain why. Kinetic energy and dissipation rate is of low size. Is there a influence of the porous media on the calculation of the turbulent viscosity? |
