Shock tube at high mach numbers-ANSYS Fluent

HI,
I am simulating the driven section and th shocked gas region of a shock tube in fluent. there seems to be a small jump in the initiallly set values and then the variation reduces and the solution proceeds as it is supposed to proceed. I am using an explicit AUSM scheme with first order upwind for flow option in spatial discretization. the courant number is set to 1. the mach number of solution is 1.7 Can anyone tell me why this is happening? the effect increases drastically and the calculation just goes off track whenthe mach number is high(M=2.1,2.8) What are the changes that need to be done...is the courant number or any other thing that i need to look into response will be highly appreciated. Unfortunately I'll be of no help to your problem. I'm also trying to work my way around the shock tube problem in Fluent. So, I was hopping if you could lead my way into setting the driver and driven conditions properly. Thanks!!! |
Hi,
I have a UDF set-up which initialises the driven gas of the shock tube. I only have the driven gas in my simulation so its basically unshocked gas and a small portion of the shocked gas (State 2). I dont have the driver gas section of the shock tube. |
