How to define specified porosity on the face of an object? (i.e. porous inlets with a thickness of 0.035m)

Thanks in advance.

this depends the points you concern. for problem without energy equation, the porosity doesn't affect the result. anyway, the entrance is only 1-2 times the mean pore diameter.

My problem concerns energy equation. If I created a brick in GAMBIT, is it true that i must make the volume (of the brick) as a fluid continuum b4 i can input porosity condition in Fluent?

I know, a very old thread, but would you please correct me if Im wrong:
SO if I have a 2d geometry and through this problem (porous pipe, porous diffuser whatever it is) flows a fluid, I do not need to define the porosity if I dont use the energy equation?
