hi
i was wondering if the DPM turbulent kinetic energy source and the turbulent dissipation source appearing in the post-processing (e.g. contours) of k-epsilon turbulent and DPM calculations can be considered the same as the last terms appearing on the right hand side of the k-epsilon equations of multiphase model (e.g. k-epsilon dispersed). if yes, the only difference between the two would be that the first calculates the effect of particles on k and epsilon in post-processing, whereas the second accounts for it from the calculation start (e.g. it's actual part of the solution), correct? this probably because the first neglects the particle volume fraction, which can be calculated only in post-processing through DPM-concentration (as DPM-concentration/particle density, which would affect the turbulence), whereas the second accounts for it in all governing equations. p.s. in the fluent manual list of parameters those source terms are absent, but for example the momentum source is present regards Last edited by doronzo; March 30, 2012 at 16:52. |
