Post processing in FLUENT

Hello there,

I'm currently simulating a re-entry vehicle geometry at incidence, in 3D, and at a high Mach number (M = 17.8).

My problem is this: when I come to post process my analyses, I find that XY plots average the results over an entire plane or wall surface. Is there a function in FLUENT that would allow me to plot a series of results at the intersection of a plane and a wall boundary?

(I am aware that FLUENT can generate lines along which results may be extracted for plotting, but my geometry includes circular arcs)

Many thanks :)

I am not sure if i get you. So you want a x-y plot for a partial area of your wall/plane? If you want that you can create "surface-clip"s and then do x-y on each of this surface-clip

Thanks for the reply! (and sorry about my poor explanation)

I'm not sure iso-clip is what I'm looking for, unfortunately - I've attached an image of my grid to clarify what I'm attempting.

What I want to do is produce an XY plot of the pressure data at the intersection of the yellow symmetry plane and the black wall boundary.

Thanks :)

Ok, a picture expanes more ;)

I would try the "iso-surface", maybe it works. Just create a iso-surface for y-coordinate of your symmetry ....... but thats just an idea

Got it now - I hadn't noticed the grid option in the iso-clip dialogue previously.

Many thanks!
