There is no need to change anything in the BIOS, based on your description. That initial high speed is for security reasons and it will slow down when it is certain that it can slow it down.

• The BIOS gives you this information... somewhere. Each BIOS gives informations in different places on their graphical interface.

Depends on the CPU model you have got. In the past, CPUs could easily handle 80ºC. Today's CPUs, it's usually lower, maybe 70-60ºC, depending on the CPU.

Again, it depends on the CPU models and the coolers they are using.

is 82 degree related to graphic card?

Hi Ehsan,

I think so, the 82ºC are related to an ATI/AMD graphics card, using a Radeon GPU.
That's a very high value, although I think GPU's can handle up to 100ºC.

When you were cleaning the heat-sink for the CPU, did you first remove the graphics card, to make it easier to access the heat-sink?
(For other readers, I'm referring to this thread: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/har...ouble-cpu.html)

And if you did remove the graphics card, can you describe the steps you took to remove the card and then to put it back in?

sorry,I forgot to answer that thread.
no I didn't remove it but moved a bit a series of cable attached to it to see what is that!
because I didn't noticed that during installation of graphic card when I assembled the PC.
its 82 degree even now that PC is idle!
may removing and installing it again fix the issue?
I asked about Zalman fans but are too expensive,they say in email that Zalman Cnps 10X performa is 148$! and its the cheapest! Zalman Cnps12x is 358$ ! these are too high prices for only a cpu fan!
I wish I hadn't clean the heat sink,dust were very better than cleaned fan now!

I don't know how much space you had for handling the CPU heat-sink, but I have a bad feeling that you might have damaged the graphics card, while you were moving the heat-sink around...

Properly uninstalling the graphics card and then installing it again, might help a bit. One of the things you can confirm is if the heat-sink of the card has any massive dust in it or if the fan is able or not to spin properly. To clean it, you only need a vaccum cleaner (used with caution), with a small brush (not one of the ones from the vacuum cleaner) to help loosen up the dust for it to come out.
And be careful to not have any static electricity built up on yourself, or you could damage the card.


Another possibility for the high temperature could be because of using the open-source ATI/AMD graphics card drivers, which might not be scaling down the power usage.

In theory, these should automatically help in reducing the heat produced by the graphics card, since it can scale it down the GPUs frequency.
