Hello to everyone,

I've just started my PhD in Mechanical Engineering. And we've to buy a computing machine of high end to use ABAQUS and COMSOL software; we have to buy latest licenses of most recent version of these software as well. Can any body recommend the machines which can run these both software.

P.S: We have to use Windows because there seems to be some graphics problems with ABAQUS for other Operating System.

P.S.2: We've a budget of almost $10k.

Thank you for your time.

Unless your research involves GPU computing, any standard workstation will do. To make the most of your budget it should have 2xIntel Xeon E5-2687W v4, a midrange graphics card (e.g. Nvidia Quadro M2000 or M4000), as much RAM as you need (probably not less than 128GB DDR4-2400 reg. ECC, populated with 8 DIMMs) and whatever amount of storage you need. It is difficult to be more specific without any further requirements.
