12 memory channels, and probably the possibility to run 4S, will create a monster CFD workstation. Rumored to launch around the same time as EPYC 7nm.

Thank you AMD, now we have competition driving hardware evolution again!

Now pretty please with sugar on top, set reasonable prices on the 20-24 core versions.

Now look at that, Intel is "gluing together" their chips
As for the reasonable prices...I wouldn't hold my breath. It's still Intel.
Meanwhile, AMD is already moving to a chiplet design without NUMA.

We will get some information from AMD today during the "New Horizon" event. Intel strategically gave their plans a day before AMD. Anyways I hope AMD has much more in store for us considering how much better their design is right now.

The event might actually be called "Next Horizon". http://ir.amd.com/events/event-details/amd-next-horizon

The live benchmark with a single EPYC Rome system vs a dual Xeon platinum 8180M system was quite impressive though.

However, it seems that EPYC Rome will continue with 8 memory channels.

So perhaps no significant advancement in terms of CFD.
