I want to know the procedure of CFD Solver Manager. Does anyone know how the hardware works when pre-processor file loads on CFD Solver? I use ANSYS CFX. When it loads pre-processor file on solver, first hard disk occupies whole area and then goes to memory and CPUs. I checked it through task manager. Is it normal procedure or general procedure of solver manager? If it is true that hard disk performance could be important factor when the file size get bigger and bigger and then memory size. Please advise me on my opinion.

I am not entirely sure what you mean. Maybe you could rephrase your question?
Anyway, answering the last question is simple: Yes, storage performance can impact pre- and post-processing tasks to a great extent. Nobody should be forced to work off a slow HDD in the year 2020. |
