Hi all,

I am looking to get a laptop for some light cfd work and have a few options on the table. My budget is around 1200$, so I was looking at getting something on sale or a cheaper laptop. My options are (for processors) ryzen 7 5800h or a 12th gen i5/i7. I know that the 12th gen intel chips will have better performance as they have more cores and bandwidth but I was wondering if they are worth it considering they are a bit more expensive. Any thoughts?

Hai .. i am also in the same domain.. beginner.. As my trainers suggestion for CFD light and heavy doesn't matter.. it will be on heavy side only . Day by day.. so go with latest generation processor, and good graphics.. as the whole computations will depend mostly on graphics card.. For further information..check ISV certificates.. INDIVIDUAL SOFTWARE VALIDATION for laptop suggestions given by AUTODESK, ANSYS, ANSA companies..
