i was planning to have a laptop for the purpose of using CFX complete module(workbench and cfx11.0).
kindly suggest me the configuration.

I would avoid laptops. You CAN get them in top configurations like
Dell precision M6400.
However they tend to get to hot, drain your battery and and will set you back a fair amount of money.

Better solution is a standalone server Dell R690 and then connect to it with a cheap laptop like dell 13inch latitude

can u tell me the mimnimum software requirement.

also suggest me some optimum configuration requirement, which i could use.

During processing, amount of cpu usage is exceptioanlly high and heat need to dissipated some where.

I am using normal cheap laptopC(Compaq) and it works perfectly fine.

Hi there,
Dont use a LAPtop even for a iterative numerical calculation ..and never for CFD...may be initial pre or later post processing may be ok..but for CFD calculations...the cpu gets burnt...one effect you would immediately note (may be in weeks or so) is that the fan gets louder and cpu gets heated faster...They (laptops) are not built for calculations period !
