Hello. I have some maybe-wired questions as I am going to have my first ever paper published! and so would appreciate any comments.

which journal would you choose to publish your article in? Journal of Fluid Mechanics or Physics of Fluids (if both relevant in terms of subject)?

Is there a factor of processing time to consider when you identify a journal? Say, which journal above would return faster reviews and hence take less time to have your paper accepted?

pete will become famous soon enough
Planning to publish your first paper in Journal of Fluid Mechanics or Physics of Fluids sound a bit ambitious. These are two of the most prestigious fluid dynamic journals. If you intend to publish your first paper in one of those journals you must have a very well know professor as second author. If you have that he or she should be able to give you guidance on where to publish.
Far and Ms.Sheyda like this.

i have a problem like Ms.Sheyda.my adviser suggest some journals but i don't know which has a more impact factor and also faster response,... in world for my first article.and want to have some information without showing the professor not knowing them at all !
It is related to wave rotor that we think turbomachinery and (i think due to its usage in airplanes) aerodynamics related journals.
What are your advices in CFD world about some mid toward up journal so that i have somthing to suggest to the professor?
